Blackjack Myths

There are myths in blackjack that make players lose the game, not only lose the game there are myths that are costly as well. Try to avoid these myths to avoid losing your hard earned cash.

1. Card Counting is a sure way to make money.

The truth is this is partially true and partially false. Yes because card counting is a strategy and a skill that blackjack player need to learn. No because you can't depend on card counting alone to win and earn a lot of money.

Mastering card counting takes a while before you can be good at it. In reality there are short term losses as well as long term losses.

2. Card counting is a predictive kind of theory.

If you think that card counting is a kind of predictive theory then you are wrong. Card counting in truth is a kind of probability theory that is just purely based on just that; probability. No one can actually tell you what card will come out next.

3. The aim of blackjack is to get cards as closed to 21.

The objective of the game is not having cards that are closed to 21 but simply to have cards that beat the house.

This is one of the most common mistakes that a player can make. They hit their hands with card value close to 21, but this should not be the case. Always stay aware of what the dealer has and aim to beat that.

4. Bad players affect the game.

No one affects the game of another. Whether you have bad players on the table it cannot affect your game. You will win because of you, and you are losing because of you as well. Although a bad player can have an affect on the result of the entire table but not on the individual status.

5. Take insurance.

Do not take insurance because it is a bad bet. Taking insurance means you are giving about 13% on your winning prize to the house.

You should only consider taking insurance if you are an experienced blackjack card counter. On the other hand, for most players they shouldn't consider taking insurance.

6. The dealer is hot.

The dealer is never hot, they just follow the rules of the casino and they have no choice; that is their job. If you are having a good hand you might win if you are having a bad hand you might lose, that's how simple it is.

However, players do have a choice; you have to make the best move for you.

7. Players entered while the game is on can make you lose.

In any situation given like a player getting extra card, player entered the middle of the game or player leaving while the game is on going none can make you lose.

This is because you are not due to win soon, no one can say that. You lose or you win it's all your doing and not because of your opponents.
